mInstytucja is designed to simplify interactions with local authorities, making administrative processes more accessible and efficient. From receiving important notifications to handling official matters directly in the app, it provides a modern and user-friendly way to stay connected with your municipality—without unnecessary hassle.
This time, we were not responsible for development but acted as expert consultants throughout the process.
Our role included creating the design (mockups and prototypes), functional specification, user guide, and administrator documentation. The key challenge was ensuring design consistency with the previously developed web system—evolving it rather than revolutionizing it. Additionally, since this was a domain-specific system used by municipalities and regional authorities, it had to meet strict legal compliance and certification requirements for integration with central systems.
Before development began, we conducted thorough market research to identify similar applications and ensure best practices.
Our team tested the mockups with real users, allowing us to refine the design and improve usability before implementation. We focused on maintaining consistency with the previously developed web system, ensuring a seamless experience across platforms. Additionally, we ensured the app met legal and compliance requirements, aligning with certification standards for domain-specific systems used by municipalities and regional authorities. The application was designed to meet WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards, ensuring usability for all users. Through the dedicated accessibility panel, users can adjust color schemes and contrast and choose preferred text sizes. The app also supports screen readers, provides alternative text for images, and maintains clear, readable content using plain language. These features ensure the platform is inclusive, navigable, and compliant with modern digital accessibility requirements.
